Orere School Cross Country

WHIRR! The whistle blew, in a high pitch noise. My competitors (Yr. 4,5 and 6's) took off like rockets. As I ran up the Rooks' uneven hills, (also known as Mt.Egmont ) my legs grew painful but that did not stop me getting to the finish line.

I made my way to the top of Mt.Egmont with excitement and thought hooray! I put a big smile on my face for the the camera but it was not the end of the race. The energy in my legs slowly recharged on the flat.
I dived through the mud like it was summer. The mud splashed all over the camera crew and the supporters that cheered me on. I rolled in Critter Creek like I was having a mud bath. I could hear the bell that Mr. Prentice was ringing from the finish line. At that point I knew I just about finished. The end of the race was near.

Orere School Cross Country

Mount Egmont was tearing my legs apart one by one.I thought that I was running through Willy Wonka's chocolate factory because there where millions of raisins on the ground.

As I looked down Dead Man's Drop I was too frightened  to go down but I had to finish the both laps. I jumped into Critter creek.  The water was freezing. I moved quickly onto Terry's trail. I fell on my bottom and tripped over a rock and then I  fell on my knees. It was very competitive and that's the end of Cross Country.

Dylan

The excitement trembled through my stomach.Oliver and I ran to the blue and orange double biscuit floating in the shore line.
I jumped on. put my thumbs up and the 150 optimax speed off towing us behind. I  looked behind me and I saw most of the year 8s and Jayden, Kyle and Josh on shore waiting for their turn.I  reached for the black  handle holding on for my life.
Jason, the boat driver turned to the left and pulled us into the other biscuit and Oliver next to me, nearly made me capsize but luckily he grabbed on and pulled himself back on. Jason sped up faster and made the biscuit go down the boat wake into the open and rough sea.
