WHIRR! The whistle blew, in a high pitch noise.
My competitors (Yr. 4,5 and 6's) took off like rockets. As I ran up the Rooks' uneven hills, (also known as Mt.Egmont ) my legs grew painful but that did not stop me getting to the finish line.
I made my way to the top of Mt.Egmont with excitement and thought hooray! I put a big smile on my face for the the camera but it was not the end of the race. The energy in my legs slowly recharged on the flat.
